# FND009-LAB1 — learner guide

Purpose: apply a daily Git evidence gate to a bounded local topic-branch change.

Requirements: Python 3 and Git. No network, credentials, remote writes, forced push, or production repository is required.

1. Run `python setup_fixture.py` once to create `workspace/` when it is absent. If `workspace/` already exists, this command preserves it.
2. `python run_lab.py` is the ordinary non-destructive health check. It preserves existing learner edits and evidence.
3. Before changing the repository, run `python inspect_gate.py` and `python run_topic_check.py` and record the observations.
4. Read `task_brief.json`. Inspect topic/target/base context and the exact changed-content boundary.
5. Fill `daily_git_change_gate_record.csv` with evidence locators. Do not infer task scope from branch names, staging, commit messages, or clean status alone.
6. Work in a disposable integration branch if you choose to integrate. Record the Git result and run an independent check on that integrated state.
7. Make the bounded human decision and record one non-claim and any residual limitation.

If you intentionally need a fresh fixture, `python setup_fixture.py --reset` deletes and recreates only the synthetic local `workspace/`. Treat this as an explicit destructive reset; copy any evidence you need before using it.

The required outcome is an evidence-backed gate record. A particular command sequence is not required.
